Freeport - Finally

We have made it across the Atlantic -- so far. Many people are glad we are here. Actually, I cheered when we finally saw land. The first land after 7 days. We pulled into Freeport this morning to quite a little fanfare.

Carnival sent a helicopter out about 6am to take all kind of photos of the Magic for future promotions. the helicopter buzzed all around while taking pictures. Sometimes it flew high and at other times it was 15 feet off the water as it buzzed towards us. At one point, the Magic actually turned 360 degrees so the other side could be in the sun. We were actually pointed back out to see for a little while as pictures were taken.

As we got closer to the dock, we had 5 tugs come out and start throwing water. They escorted us all the way into the dock. At one point in time, one of them was turning around in 360 degrees for about 10 minutes as we docked. Quite amazing!

We will not leave Freeport until tomorrow evening as the fix the thruster that was damaged a couple of weeks ago. They are currently working around the clock to get this replaced in time.

Tomorrow evening we head to Galveston.
