We are off again. We decided to go on a Thanksgiving cruise because we had never been on one during that time period. Also, as we looked at the itinerary, we found three ports that we had never been to before. I know that many of you do not believe that. Actually, though, we are looking forward to going to La Romano, Curacao, and Aruba for the first time.

We have been to all the ports and are now heading back to Ft. Lauderdale. Today, I just wanted to share some of our first comments.

We had a nice flight to Fort Lauderdale after our Daughter-In-Law dropped us off at the airport. It is really nice when you don’t have to leave your car at the airport. Thanks!

When we arrived in Fort Lauderdale, we went to a German Restaurant just a block from our hotel. It was a wonderful meal.  Above our booth was this wooden relief from the 1700's. This was all hand carved and was just amazing.

Our first night on the Carnival Freedom I ran up to the Panoramic Deck to get this shot of a sunset. But, as my granddaughter asked Rexie, “Why does Grandpa like sunsets so much? They happen every day.” Yes, they may happen every day, but they are all not this beautiful.

We have found the Freedom to be a beautiful ship and the crew are just fabulous.  It is fast becoming our most favorite ship we have been on.

After a “Fun Day” at sea, our first port was Grand Turk. If you have ever been to Grand Turk you know that if you are not a beach or water person, once is plenty. So, we did a little shopping on the pier just like these people.  Even that was not very exciting.

So much for our first port…

I must be off!
